| Bio: |  Well, this is a very old picture. It's one of the first I had taken when me and my fiancee were playing Guildwars. This is a picture of Karasu and Yashira. Way way, before El Nakido came along to sweep her off her feet ;)
About me:Hiya and welcome to my LJ! You've probably clicked here on route to somewhere else, but if you want to get to know a little bit about me I shall endeavour to enlighten you. Yeah, I like to use big words sometimes. (Wish I understood them too!) You added me? Yeah, I probably thought, "Hmm, this person looks interesting/cool/fun/would be someone I'd like to know." If you don't want to be added just let me know kindly and I'll simply remove you from my list. Generic Information: I'm about 5'1, brunette with matching eyes. I'm a scorpio and water ox. On my off time, when I'm not busy reading novels and dissecting them, I write. I've been writing ever since grade four from small little nothings to full fledge stories and fanfics. Writing information: I write both fanfics and original stories. My penname that I use for my fanfics is Yashira. I unforunately, at the time I began writing fanfics, did not use a lot of foresight when chosing my name as I also have a character I rp with the same name... hence CONFUSION! While I dislike spreading confusion, I feel I can't change the penname as I've come to associate myself with too much. Those who have read my Sister, Sister fic and my Fire and Ice fic, might understand what I'm saying. In essence there's two Yashiras. The character and then me. (Current note: I've stop writing fanfics for the time being as I wish to concentrate on my original stories.) Fanfics: Inuyasha and others A lot of my work can be found at ff.net, or on my webpage. I focus a lot on Inuyasha as I found it was wonderful manga/anime to work with. I've started to branch out to Star Ocean 2, as well, but Inuyasha was always my first love. I got into Inuyasha way before it became mainstream - before it was made into an anime and before it was dubbed. I found the UNTRANSLATED MANGA in a Japanese store and instantly fell in love with it. I started playing with ideas for the series before it became an anime. Interests My favourite thing in the world is Fantasy. Whether it be games, stories, artwork and the like, I simply adore the fantasical. I'll read almost any author once, provided they write fantasy. Manic or Obsessive? I love collecting books and games. I seem to have a deathwish with these things as I collect way more than I can play or read at one time. Anyone else ever do that with books and games? Reader or Editor? I hope this doesn't scare/bother/annoy anyone, but I'm a very finicky reader. I can't just read a book for simply the story inside, I need to analyze everything said and done by the character too. I don't feel a story is good enough if the author took short cuts in their characterization, plot development etc. Some people write great ideas, but they lack in other departments, some people write very well, but lack ideas... I think it's something that should go hand in hand. To write well, you don't simply just entertain, you gotta cover your ass from other people who write too as they can tear you up pretty fierce. (Always sad when you see a publish writer get away with something just because they knows they can get it published... you know what I mean by this, there's always someone somewhere that will chew out crap just because they can.) Please your audience, but gotta also keep in mind that your audience may also be writers too. When I read books, I look at how the character behaves, match it to the first time we met them, and then take note to see if they were given ample time to grow into that new behaviour. IF they weren't, it bothers me. I dislike authors who force a story around a character. Sometimes your characters WANT to tell the story THEIR way... forcing them to do something YOU want can show up in the work as being FORCED. Writing that is forced is not good writing... it shows that the author is trying too hard to control everything. The point of the story is to WATCH, not tell, everything unfold. As soon as you start telling everything, it becomes boring. My opinion on some of the published authors in today's markets is that a) they had connections b) they were lucky to be liked c) they're good, that's why they're there, d) they're not necessarily good, but were given a chance to grow... e) TBA Personality I'm a blunt -VERY BLUNT- person. I am also very honest in what I think and say. Some people don't like that, may feel that I'm attacking them or what not, but if I can't be honest with my feelings... if I can't be allowed to express them, then I cannot be me. I can also be very brisk and short sometimes with people I don't know, but it changes with the more I get to know someone. I can be opinionated in what I think and do, but that doesn't mean - if I state one opinion, that I'll stick to it (not unless it conflicts with my morals - what are my morals anyway?) - I love playing the Devil's Advocate. You have to see things from both sides, even if they're wrong, because how else will you grow as a writer? Information about the other Yashira: Yashira, when not consorting with her wolf mate, Yajuumaru, spends her time (when human, for the lady is half wolf-demon)as a Priestess who wards the world and protects those who are weak against the forces of evil. Since she leads a very busy life she is hardly ever in one place for long. Hugs, I love hugs!
